I never voluntarily...
get up early if I don't have to especially not on holidays. This morning, ensuring Teen-M actually went to work was one of those mornings where I begrudgingly fell out of bed at 7:15am. Last night I decided I could sit here all day wondering if he was hiding behind a bush down the road until 5pm or I could drop him at work myself and watch him actually walk in. Yes. I really did that. I sat for about 5 minutes to make sure he went into work. Yes. I'm talking about an 18 year old not a 2 year old. Such are the fun and games of life with a teen.
What exactly does...
one do with themselves when they are up before 9am on a non-work day? Well, I read 3 papers. I never get to read the paper. In fact I make it a point not to and the only reason it's delivered to my home is that I signed up for some University deal where it costs you $20 a year and I pick it up at work if I want to (I don't) and it gets delivered to home on the weekends (useful for the TV guide and whats happening around town). Then come summer when Uni is out they deliver it to your home every single day which is somewhat annoying. But, this morning I have to say I enjoyed leisurely perusing three days worth of papers. It was nice to have that much time to waste.
Given that I...
wasn't sure of the status of my tummy bug I pretty much stayed put today and spent the morning researching split system air conditioners and the afternoon lounging in my hot pink recliner with Bill Bryson's Notes From a Small Island. I'm more than a little peeved that I've just left behind a newly installed split system to the value of $2,000+. Still, after the few mediocre hot days I've already sweated through in this house (and the few whoppers on their way) I'm not going to haggle over a measly few thousand.
