I'm trying my...
hand [or rather my behind] at sitting at my computer on a gym ball. Yes. A gym ball. I'm not sure why. In the faint recesses of my mind I remember someone saying it was good for your posture. And since my computer chair has been giving me grief I decided I'd try one since they are around $200 cheaper than the type of chair I would need to buy for my very fickle lower back. So far I've been sitting here all of 10 minutes and I'm yet to be convinced. Add to that the fact it was rock hard last night when I tested it and I've had to pump it up again today. Not too keen on the idea of building muscle with the hand pump every time I want to use the computer. Plus my upper back is now hurting
because I'm sitting up straight. And we can't have that.
Speaking of backs...
I think its time to replace my mattress. It's not old old, it's probably 5-7 years old. When I first got it it was love at first sight [or is that love at first horizontal quest?]. It's one of those pillow tops mattresses that makes you dream you're being enveloped by clouds as you lie upon it. These days I find I have to turn it constantly because I've developed some nasty little hollows where my bulk lies and because the pillow top is only on one side this limits your turning capacity. I've resorted to sleeping on the wrong side which obviously was never made for sleeping on but is rendering me a better nights sleep. I ducked into a few shops today to see what I might be up for $$ wise.
When did mattresses get so damn expensive? One company which will remain unnamed wanted on average around $2000 for a mattress. We are not talking mattress
and base here.
Just a mattress!
Seriously, Easter eggs...
on January 2nd? I'm not even religious and the entire concept enrages me. A supermarket spokesperson's response? "We are simply meeting customer demands". Right then all you freekazoid customers who march into shops on January 1 and demand to be sold easter eggs. Stop it right now! You are being greedy and driving the stores to be seen as exploiting Jesus!
