red hot and air conditioner-less...
Jesus it's bloody...
hot. I just read over my last post and noticed I had the heater on! Hot. Cold. Hot. Cold. Melbourne weather is so damn fickle. We are currently having a burst of mid 30's days which will subside for a few days then heat back up again. It is with some glee that I say my air con is getting installed on Friday. They promised me this week then didn't call to book me in and when I finally chased them down they tried to push me back to next Tuesday. No thank you. This house is horrid when the temp rises above 30°C. By this time next week who knows if I'll be using my new air con or the ducted heating.
Went to the...
Star Voyager exhibition at ACMI [Australian Centre for the Moving Image] on the weekend. It was a massive disappointment. I expected so much more from it. There wasn't even a single itty bitty thing about Star Wars. I don't know what they were thinking and can only fathom a guess that it is a licensing issue. They briefly touched on Star Trek but only because they had a couple of the space suits from the series. On the up side Ms Kiwi and I lunched at Caffe e Torta, a funky little cafe on Little Collins street where we were seated next to a French guy and served by a French waitress.
Now that I'm...
in the process of making plans for France, France is everywhere. The Sherlock Holmes movie I saw last week was partly based in France. BTW, if you haven't seen it yet, Robert DJ gets his shirt off which results in a few pleasing moments for the ladies. Can't say I've ever been a fan until I saw him in Iron Man and the first Sherlock Holmes. Hmmmm much worthy of sitting up straight and taking notice.
